Church Vision
The Restoration Center is where you can restore your mind, body and
soul through Christ Jesus under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit.
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that kept
the law, happy is he." (Proverbs 29.18)
Our Motto:
Experience the Presence, See the Glory, Sense the Change"
God's vision for all creation is that it will come perfectly under
God's reign, which is to be a Kingdom of peace and justice, wholeness
and completion, happiness and freedom. This reign comes and is to come
as a gift by the mighty power of God. It is God who effects it. It
is God who saves.
But what does this Kingdom expect of the people by way of response?
When God entered into a covenant with Israel, Yahweh (God) reigns over
them in a special way (Judges 8:23; 1 Samuel 8:7; Exodus 19:6) and
they have the duty of total obedience to God's will.
Since the Kingdom is God's will for creation and the people, if the
Israelites are to live their covenant relationship with God, they must
live their lives according to God's intentions.
Jesus proclamation of the Kingdom is a proclamation of how people's
lives ought to be lived. As the Kingdom is a manifestation of God's
love for us, we manifest the kingdom by loving God in our neighbor.
The congregation must continue to believe that it is capable of creating
a better future on the strength of God's vision. If that confidence
dissipates, so will the backbone and resolve of the church, especially
when it experiences hard times, such as environmental challenges, congregational
disputes, leadership changes, resource shortfalls and cultural conflicts.
Knowing that the vision represents a route to God's blessing toward
realizing a livable and righteous world that keeps people seeking the
future:
- The church must experience God and seek His kingdom; listen to
God and then make decisions.
- Ministry - Teaches that we at First Baptist Church Crestwood "make
full proof of thy ministry." (2 Timothy 4:5)
- The laborers must
be trained to accomplish God mission; "Study
to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy
2:15)
- Evangelism - We must evangelize our Crestwood Community the Internet
and the rest of the World.
- We all must become soul-winners for Christ, Jesus. The Pastor must
evangelize.
- We will put together a witness team to go and pass out spiritual
tracks through out the new and old community.
- Discipleship - We will conduct in house discipleship training.
- Ensure that the church's equipment and computer software is up
to date for the year 2002 and beyond, with the latest versions installed.
- We'll use the mail system and Internet to reach those people who
are always visiting the Web sites to inform them about our goal and
mission.
- We will institute a Prison Ministry to be included within the existing
Help/Outreach program.
- Worship - We must continue to emphasize our praise and worship
services "But
the hour cometh, and now is when the true worshippers shall worship
the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to
worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship
Him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:23-24)
- Fellowship - We must fellowship one with another, including fellowshipping
with other churches. We are all part of one body, which is Christ,
Jesus.
- Recognize our elders within our church community.
- Create a disaster team that will be divided among the congregation
whose responsibility will be to check on the elderly during and after
the time of a natural disaster within the church community.
- Initiate a youth response group to help the young people to become
more focus on creating their own history.
- Establish a youth conference. Invite the youth in our church community
discuss their concerns and problem that they feel is impacting their
lives.
- Expand our Music Department to edify Gods Praises to a new level
of Praise and Worship.
- Ensure our Coed-Softball Team remains in God's Spirit of sportsman's
ship.
- Continue our men and women basketball team.
- Phase I build Gods' New Tabernacle to support God's plan.
- Phase II of our building project will include a Family life center.
- Phase III build a senior citizen day/night facility.
The Kingdom of God is growing and nothing can stop it. Let First Baptist
Church Crestwood continue to stay planted and rooted in God's Word
until He returns to pick His fruit. Let the Church Say Amen!
